Mapesonic 2 is a 76 mil thick, self-adhesive, load-bearing, flexible, thin and lightweight, fabric-reinforced, advanced technology and patented membrane designed for sound attenuation, crack bridging, waterproofing and vapor management. Installation of Mapesonic 2 can be immediately followed by the installation of finished flooring. Mapesonic 2 reduces the transmission of impact sound (footsteps, dropped objects, etc.) and airborne sound (voices, TV, etc.) through the floor when installed under ceramic tile, stone, vinyl or wood coverings. It also helps prevent the transfer of existing or potential horizontal cracks (with in-plane movement up to 10 mm [3/8"] wide) through grout, ceramic tile and natural stone.
